Lauren Regis a panelist at MDLA seminar for new associates
BOSTON (Oct. 18, 2010) – Lauren J. Regis recently participated in a panel discussion sponsored by the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association providing tips to associates on how to thrive as new associates in defense-oriented law firms.
Regis and other panel members offered suggestions on important topics such as managing case loads, prioritizing projects, and effectively communicating with supervising attorneys and clients.
“An important hurdle for new associates is to start thinking of themselves as lawyers as soon as possible. Partners appreciate newer attorneys taking ownership of cases and being proactive,” said Regis. “Independent thinking builds your confidence and skills.”
She also emphasized the importance of quickly mastering civil procedure rules in order to effectively handle depositions and court hearings.
Regis focuses her civil litigation practice on professional liability defense, insurance coverage matters, toxic tort, employment law, premises liability and condominium disputes.
The three-hour seminar – entitled “How to Survive and Thrive as a New Associate” – was hosted by Suffolk University Law School.
