Kane speaks at special education seminar

PROVIDENCE (Sept. 22, 2010) – David A. Kane, a nationally recognized expert in education and disability law, recently spoke at a seminar covering special education law.

Hosted by the Rhode Island Bar Association, the three-hour program provided an overview of federal and state laws impacting special education, as well as the procedural rules governing disputes in this area of law.

Kane has represented parents, local school districts, school committees and the Rhode Island state education department on matters related to education and civil rights. He was the primary author of the Rhode Island Special Education Regulations (2000) and Physical Restraint Regulations.

The CLE-approved seminar took place at the Rhode Island Law Center in Providence.
