Firm primary sponsor of children’s theater production
PROVIDENCE (May 26, 2010) – The firm was a primary sponsor of the Manton Avenue Project’s June 7 gala event featuring an original play written and produced by children in the group.
The Manton Avenue Project creates original theater by teaming children from the Olneyville neighborhood of Providence with adult theater artists. The spring production – “We Crossed Oceans to Get Here”– featured eight mini-plays and songs that tell the story of immigrants coming to America. The musical, preceded by a cocktail reception, was performed at Providence College’s Angell Blackfriars Theater, Smith Center for the Arts. A mixture of children, celebrities and adult actors participated in the production.
“We are pleased to continue our support of the Project,” said Associate Matt Plain, who also serves as treasurer for the group. “The creativity and energy of the children is amazing. And the life lessons of hard work, confidence and dedication instilled by the program are invaluable.”
